Staff at Holy Family

The Rev. Dr. Charles D. "Ted" Hackett, Priest Associate

Ted joined the staff of Holy Familly as Priest Associate June 1, 2006 after retiring from his post as Assistant Professor of Church Ministries at Candler School of Theology where he was responsible for giving Episcopal students a solid grounding in Anglican studies.  He is an expert in the fields of liturgy and pastoral theology. Ted has an office in our conference building and can be reached at 770-893-4525 ext. 42, or send him email fatherTed@HolyFamilyJasper.org. He continues to preach and celebrate the  Eucharist regularly. He is open to the possibility of teaching classes, and will also provide pastoral care as needed. Ted and his wife, Debbie Freudenthal are residents of Big Canoe.

The Rev. Deacon Katharine Armentrout

Katharine and her husband, Scott, come to us from Baltimore, in the Diocese of Maryland where, for three years, Katharine had been serving as deacon. After retirement from careers as attorneys, Katharine and Scott came to Jasper to be nearer their children and grandchildren who live in the Atlanta area. Katharine has a passion both for pastoral care and for outreach. We are grateful to Bishop Alexander for assigning Katharine to us. She serves God at Holy Family for the love of doing what she is so clearly called to do.

Mr. John King Carter,
Organist/Choirmaster

John King Carter is a native Alabamian and a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College where he majored in piano performance. He has worked as a choirmaster and organist at Episcopal, Lutheran, and Catholic churches in Alabama and the Tampa Bay area, with brief stints in Los Angeles and Cincinnati. He has enjoyed some success as a composer and his anthems have been heard at churches around the country.
